Forge World Dreadnought

To All,
Here is a quick picture on the progress I've made on the Forge World Dreadnought.
I believe the front part is supposed to carved stone so I attempted to make it look like it.

The Stout Smurf

  1. Stout,
The dread is looking really sharp! The right foot appears to interact with the base oddly. But I'm not sure there is enough actuation in the actual model to do much about it. And are you planning on pinning the top half of the dread to the bottom? Or just gluing it on?
    Two Thumbs Up!

  3. Richelieu,

I just balanced the feet and bottom of the Dread on the base just to give an idea of what it will look like. Nothing is glued or set into place yet. I'm going to get a "pinning" lesson from Jawaballs today.

I still am deciding if I'm going to glue or magnetize the two halves together.

  7. I noticed that the model isn't fully assembled. I also noticed that you said you paint the bases separately.

I was wondering if you could discuss the reasoning behind that as my first and only experience painting models comes from my 3ish months of Warhammer 40k.

  8. Serws,

I normally paint models and figures in sections. In that way I can focus on getting the details done in one section before I move to the next.
I painted all the legs and attached them to the bases before I painted the torsos.

I'm going to do a step-by-step on the marines next week.
