Quick Refence Sheets - great resource for the Noob!

To All,

Here are the tools I need to use since I am a noob. Jawaballs Gave me a copy (still in the bag) of White Dwarf from July,2008 which is the issue for the launch of 5th edition. I think it should be required reading for all newbies. A great thing about that issue is that a quick reference guide was included with it.Until I get a much better handle on the mechanics of the game I'm going to lean on it heavily!
I also use the "Summary" page from the Space Marines CODEX:
(I put these pages up as examples of the tools I use to play the game. If this is a copyright problem please email me at stantonct@gmail.com and I will remove them. My intention is not to steal anyone's intellectual property.)

  1. These are also great for veteran gamers, too! If you didn't already know about it, here is a link to GW's site where you can download that reference sheet as well as summary sheets for all the armies and more. It's a great resource that is often overlooked. By the way, I'm really enjoying the blog. Keep it up!

  2. Dude, that is sweet. I'm printing out all the summaries so I can double check opponents that I suspect are elaborating their army's abilities, if you know what I mean.

  3. Yeah, I used to keep a binder of all this stuff until everything became second nature to me after about 3 months of playing. Good to have around still, though.

  4. as far as i know, as long as you are not making a profit you can post things like this.

  5. Another good tip is to have them laminated. Even if putting them in a binder, they will last longer. I also use dry erasers on it to highlight weapons I'm struggling to remember, like thundercannons. Just my 2 cents.

  9. I recently purchased an eReader at Borders for half price. The cool thing is, they read PDF documents. So now all my FAQ's, reference sheets, and even army lists are all in one place. The battery lasts about two weeks if left on all the time, so no worries there either!

  10. I also have a laminated set and its super helpful as everyone makes mistakes and its solves any questions ASAP. I also think the laminated FAQ is a good idea because that stuff is always in question.
